Facing your fears//Collab

Zoella fear quote.jpg

She’s right. Facing your fears is tough, but you’ll never know your strength until you face your fear. This post is a collab with the amazing Kat and after you have finished reading my post go check out Kat’s post and her blog because it’s AMAZING. You can check out our previous collab here.

Most of my fears are your stereotypical fears. My fears include arachnophobia (fear of spiders), heights, deep water, flying in airplanes, big crowds, I kind of have a touch of stage fright, claustrophobia and speaking in front of a large group of people. Yeah, I have a lot of fears, and I’ve made it my mission for 2017 to try and overcome some or most of them. The ones I want to tackle first are the stage fright because I do drama and there is always a scripted play at the end of every term and heights and flying in airplanes because I’m going to Portugal in June and I don’t want to have a panic attack either in the airport or on the plane.

I’ve googled some ways to help overcome three different fears. Feel free to contact me through Instagram, Twitter or Tumblr, email me or leave me a message on the Contact page on my blog if you need to talk to someone about your fear.

  • Stage fright

.1. Relax your body – Shake off any worries from your mind
2. Meditate – practice some breathing exercises
3. Avoid caffeine – It will make you feel more jittery
4.Laugh as much as you can – Keep your mind off the stress
5. Get there early – Get rid of any lingering nerves
6. Breathe – In through your nose, out through your mouth.

  • Deep water

1.Pick a safe, comfortable body of water
2.Have someone you trust present
3.Wade into the water, stopping when you feel fearful
4.Be mindful of your breathing
5. Put your head under the water – Crouch down and submerge your chin and lips first then your nose and then stand back up
6. Try floating – Walk back towards the shore a small bit and lie on your back. Have someone you trust present

  • Flying

For this one I’ll just link the post because this one is quite long and it isn’t easy to shorten it down so click here to read the post.

These are just a few fears if you want to search for other fears, wikiHow is a good website to search for ways to overcome fears. Or you can just search for ‘How to overcome fear of…’ and you can find a few different sites to help you.

Thanks so, so, so, so much for 300 followers on my Instagram! It means the absolute world to me!
